Add gaisho to ChatGPT.

A custom connector, a Google sign-in, no API key. ChatGPT gets product search, price checks and seller vetting across US online retail.

  1. Create a custom connector

    In ChatGPT on the web or the desktop app, open Settings → Apps / Connectors and create a custom connector. Some plans first need Developer mode under Advanced settings. Use this URL and set authentication to OAuth.

  2. Sign in

    Sign in with Google and click Allow. No key is typed anywhere. Then enable gaisho in the conversation.

  3. Install the daily shopping skill

    Save the general shopping skill (shopping.md, linked from the install guide) where ChatGPT keeps skills, or in its persistent instructions, with the ChatGPT card reference (linked from the install guide) saved as references/chatgpt-cards.md beside it.

  4. Ask a shopping question

    Try “robot vacuum” or a real question. A saved configuration is not proof; a successful answer is.

No sign-in? Use an API key

ChatGPT connects with sign-in. Use an API key when sign-in is unavailable or fails, or when calls run from a script or sandbox.

  1. Create a key

    In the console, open API Keys and create one. It starts with gsk_ and is shown once. Set it as the environment variable GAISHO_API_KEY, or in the host's secret settings; never paste it into a chat or commit it.

  2. Call gaisho from a script

    Where there is no native MCP client, install the maintained HTTP script by following its guide (http.md, linked from the install guide). It needs Python 3.9+ and curl, no packages, and reads GAISHO_API_KEY.

Questions

Can ChatGPT add the connector by itself?
No. Only you can add a custom connector in ChatGPT's settings. The setup prompt gives you the exact steps and waits while you finish.
Does gaisho decide what to buy?
No. gaisho returns facts — products, prices and seller signals — never verdicts such as “worth buying”. Your agent judges.
Which stores does it cover?
US online retail.
I belong to an organization. Whose usage is it?
The sign-in page asks whether usage counts toward you or your organization. You choose.
I already had gaisho under another name or URL.
Rename the connection to gaisho and update it to https://mcp.gaisho.co/mcp instead of adding a second one.
